Air Purifiers

How do air purifiers work?

Air purifiers usually consist of a filter, or multiple filters, and a fan that sucks in and circulates air. As air moves through the filter, pollutants and particles are captured, and the clean air is pushed back out into the living space. Typically, filters are made of paper, fiber (often fiberglass) or mesh, and they require regular replacement to maintain efficiency.

What is Air purifier

An air purifier or air cleaner is a device which removes contaminants from the air in a room to improve indoor air quality. These devices are commonly marketed as being beneficial to allergy sufferers and asthmatics, and at reducing or eliminating second-hand tobacco smoke.

The commercially graded air purifiers are manufactured as either small stand-alone units or larger units that can be affixed to an air handler unit (AHU) or to an HVAC unit found in the medical, industrial, and commercial industries. Air purifiers may also be used in industry to remove impurities from air before processing. Pressure swing adsorbers or other adsorption techniques are typically used for this.

Do Air Purifiers Actually Work?

Home air purifiers are on the rise, partly as a response to concerns over air quality. While your home is designed to provide you shelter, many of us are spending much more time indoors than generations past. So, you may be exposed to more indoor particles and pollutants that can induce or aggravate lung-related diseases.

Despite their promises, are air purifiers a reliable solution to get rid of indoor pollutants? The short answer is yes, to a degree.

Who needs an Air Purifier?

They work well for adults and children for chest decongestion, they are good for Asthmatics, helping with seasonal allergies, moistening the air, and helping with dry coughs. It is ideal for homes, offices, medical rooms, and hotels.

What is the best Purifier for allergies?

All our Purifier models are equipped in assisting the relief of allergies.

What is the purpose of an Air Purifier?

The air inside the typical home or office space is generally dirtier than the air outside because a house can be a source of air contaminants. Moisture can lead to the development of mould and mould spores. Forced-air heating and cooling systems circulate dust particles and bacteria throughout the house.

Pets shed fur and give off dander, while smokers pump toxins into the air. Pollen and other outdoor allergens can blow in through open doors and windows (or through a window or door screen) and become caught in carpet or upholstery.

The end result is that the average house tends to concentrate contaminants in greater quantities than the outdoors. This concentration isn’t usually too harmful to a healthy person, but children and people with allergies and respiratory difficulties can experience ill effects. Reducing the level of contaminants can help alleviate some of these problems.

Diffusers

What is an Essential Oil Diffuser?

A diffuser is a device that breaks essential oil into small particles and spreads them in the air for an enjoyable and calming effect. But this all depends on the type of essential oil that you’re using.

For example, the lavender essential oil is to support sleep, whereas rose essential oils are good for anxiety, stress, depression, and pain. The main goal of the diffuser is to break the oil up into small particles and not overbear the room, but to make it easy to breathe.

Essential Oils

How to Use Essential Oils

Essential oils are highly concentrated natural extracts from the leaves, flowers, and stems of plants.

The most common way to use essential oils is to inhale them, both for their amazing scent and their therapeutic properties. But they can also be used in diffusers and humidifiers, as well as diluted with a carrier oil and applied to the skin.

Essential oils have a wide range of medicinal and therapeutic properties. Their antifungal, antibacterial, and antiviral properties make them a useful product in your medicine cabinet.

They have also been shown to promote healthy sleep, relieve headaches, and alleviate pain. In addition, essential oils can improve skin conditions, help treat the common cold, and encourage healthy digestion.

What Essential Oils are safe for my dogs?

Eucalyptus oil, tea tree oil, pennyroyal,  cinnamon, citrus, peppermint, pine, sweet birch, wintergreen, and ylang ylang are toxic to pets. These are toxi when used in diffusers or applied to their skin.

What Essential Oils are safe for my cats?

A few common essential oils that are SAFE to use for your cat include lavender, copaiba, helichrysum, and frankincense.

If you diffuse oils in your home, it should not cause a problem for your cat, as the oil used in a diffuser is highly diluted. Consult your vet before diffusing essential oils.

Are Essential Oils safe for my pets?

While pet parents should avoid using the majority of essential oils, a few are safe for pets if used appropriately. For example, lavender is probably the safest essential oil for both dogs and cats. Many essential oils, such as eucalyptus oil, tea tree oil, cinnamon, citrus, pennyroyal, peppermint, pine, sweet birch, wintergreen, and ylang ylang are toxic to pets

What is Essential Oil and how do I use it?

Essential oil therapy, better known as aromatherapy, refers to therapies that make use of essential oils and other plant mixtures.

For several thousands of years, essential oils have been used to improve a person’s mood and health. Note, these therapies are not meant to treat any diseases, but do in fact help and fit easily into any daily health routine.

Massagers

What does the Athletes Massage Gun do?

Generates effective power for deep tissue therapy, and is well for on-the-go treatment.  The muscle massager generates effective power for deep tissue therapy, relieves muscle pain, promotes blood circulation, and allows you to perform at your best.

Why Should I Buy A Personal Massager?

Great Imports stocks a variety of massagers. These include massagers intended for the footneck, and lower back. Our massagers are classified as deep massagers.

Deep massage is a method in which steady, firm kneading is employed for an effective workup of the inner layers of muscle and connective tissue.

Massage can have many advantages. These include the reduction of tightness and discomfort, improved circulation, and the moderating of heart rate and blood pressure. Additionally, massages can allow for a sense of relaxation and relief.

While massage can be beneficial, it should not be used instead of possibly-required medical care. Consult your doctor in this regard.

Medical Devices

Why Do I Need A Thermometer?

Thermometers come in two main forms: touch and non-touch. Touch thermometers require contact with the body to evaluate temperature, while non-touch thermometers are capable of evaluating body temperature without contact.

Our GP 300 non-touch thermometers measure body temperature via the forehead (temporal artery) and are IEC-certified. These thermometers make us of an infrared scanner to assess the temporal artery’s temperature.

The benefits of using a non-touch thermometer include: the temperature-taking process being speedy and allowing for minimal physical invasiveness, being suitable for all ages and, in the interest of caution with relation to instances such as pandemics or epidemics, a thermometer which does not require contact is a safe option.
